Birthday love.

So, my birthday has come and gone but I certainly won't forget the amazing times that were had in celebration of it.

A crew of us went out for sushi to celebrate and then down to Club 222 for a reggae night called Sleng Teng where Shortkut was spinning. I also ran in Qbert down there, that dude is a legend.

The next night I was a guest DJ for the Afrolicious party down at the Elbo Room. It was my first time DJing there and I certainly had a blast playing some fresh cuts.

The rest of my weekend was pretty chill however. I kicked it in Dolores park on Saturday.

And went with my friend Dana to Baker Beach on Sunday, where there was no shortage of naked dudes. Baker Beach happens to be a nudist friendly beach on the north of SF, just west of the Golden Gate Bridge. It is beautiful to say the least and the weather is finally starting to be consistantly warm, I'm still not used to San Francisco's atypical summer weather.

Not a whole lot is new otherwise, just been watching the Democratic National Convention whenever possible and looking forward to kicking it with some friends in from NYC and Seattle this weekend.

26th Birthday Mix

What are birthdays for?

DANCING YOUR ASS OFF!!!

Yes, that is right. So for my birthday today I decided to throw down an extra special birthday dance mix. 100% dance floor bangin' funk, disco, boogie, latin and breaks from around the globe. After all, makossa does mean "dance" in Duala, the native language of Cameroon.

I hope to see you all tomorrow night at Afrolicious down at the Elbo Room as I will be guest DJing.

Much birthday love for you all!

The download is available here.

Birthday BBQ inna SF stylee.

So yesterday, we rocked the BBQ properly in celebration of Oz's 30th birthday. Whenever I'm drinking beers in the daytime I always need to hear that sweet reggae music, so I threw down a nice little set in true MAKossa fashion.

Giant Jenga was played.

Later, we hit up a benefit party that Pleasuremaker band was playing at 111 Minna. Joey brought our new friend Fresh from Baltimore up on stage and he destroyed the mic.

Good day to be alive.

P.S. The new mix is on the way. Really.

And I'm back...

Sorry it's been a minute since I've posted anything. I've been busy kicking it with my family in St. Louis and attending a wedding in Kansas City. This was the longest I've been back in the Midwest for quite some time. Here are a couple photos from the wedding.

And my favorite photo from the evening goes to. . . . . . . . . .

Vince and his get-a-few-beers-in-him-and-he-turns-into-a-gay-Chippendale persona. I love college roommates.

P.S. Stay tuned for a new mix I'm about to drop tomorrow.
